Time flies when you're working your arse off.

Every month this year I was like, 'Christ, what a year' and then I was like, 'Lemon, it's February'. Anyway it's basically December now, so I can wholeheartedly say: Christ! What a year!
I finished my PhD. I'm a doctor! (Not the useful sort, unless you need an emergency literary analysis.) While doing so, I also flogged most of my possessions, sold my house, and moved interstate in a more permanent way than my prior noncommittal flitting between Tasmania and Queensland. Time to update my bio and yeet the ol' "Tania splits her time between..." part; I've gone Full Tasmanian for keeps. If you're not familiar, Tasmania is the little island under the bigger island of Australia. It's much the same, only smaller, colder, and dangling even further off the edge of the world. My partner is here. My dog is happier here. We get the Southern Lights. I love this place.
I also re-entered the workforce as the Digital & Communications Lead for an NGO.
Christ, what a year.
I didn't publish any new shorts throughout 2025, for obvious reasons, and I've temporarily backburnered the YA SF novel I was working on last update; the PhD novel took precedence. That one's finished now--I'm about ready to approach a few agents with it. Shelved novel will return when I'm ready to sculpt the 'sandpit' draft into a majestic castle.
In the meantime, I've got stories coming out in Clarkesworld and Reactor next year, and I couldn't be more excited. I've also got a couple of novelettes itching to grow into longer projects. I can't wait to get started.
