Ahh yes, time for my annual update. (I really am going to try harder to stay on top of this thing. But, consider: the internet does not have autumn leaves, or the mirror-like surface of the bay just beyond my front yard. And, while the internet is full of cute dogs, there is only one dog readily available to me for cuddles, and he is not on the internet. Hi, I'm Tania, and I need to stop touching grass long enough to update this website.)
So, speaking of dogs, Clarkesworld's April 2026 issue is now out, and with it: 'D0G', a novelette about the difficulty of loving creatures with a propensity for war. Fair warning: it's a dark tale. Since my last update, my partner and I bought a house together--a 130-year-old (approximately; it's a bit of a ship of Theseus situation) farmhouse that was once involved in the production of apples. While the orchard is long gone, the house came with an enormous barn which contains within it, Russian-doll-style, a coolhouse. The coolhouse is perfectly dark, perfectly chill... we've been calling it the Corpse Room but strangely enough, I don't get creepy vibes from it. In fact, I recently discovered it makes an excellent one-woman roller-skating rink. Awfully hard to take a place seriously after that. I am currently seeking a new agent. I reached out to about ten of them, and of those, eight or so requested my full manuscript. That was a while ago now. I'm trying not to think about it, to be honest--of all the screamable voids, this one is especially deep. Alright. As you were. Go admire a leaf or something. Go!
